Since opening in 1983, The Woodview has established a reputation for being an innovative and progressive leader in long-term care. We have received numerous awards from the Virginia Health Care Association for community involvement activities and have received Quality Awards from the American Health Care Association, a distinction given to facilities who demonstrate outstanding continuous quality improvement principles.

The Woodview provides a safe, secure, comfortable environment which helps our residents and their families feel good about being here. Both private and semi-private rooms are available. Each room is appropriately furnished, includes individually controlled heating and air conditioning units for year-round comfort, and is wired for cable TV and telephone.

Residents are encouraged to decorate their rooms with personal items such as a favorite comfortable chair, throw pillows, and family photographs.

Meals are served in the bright, cheerful dining room where residents and their guests dine in style at tables tastefully set with linens and china. All meals are prepared with special attention given to likes, dislikes and dietary restrictions. Snacks are provided throughout the day.

Our Registered Dietitian works closely with both residents and families to assure a pleasurable dining experience. Our kitchen also caters many special parties and events for residents, and families are always welcome.

Pleasant common areas for informal gatherings of families and friends are plentiful at The Woodview.

Our tastefully appointed lobby is home to our aviary, where residents and their guests gather to chat and to watch and listen to the birds. Large windows allow views of the landscaped grounds and our outdoor picnic area is the perfect spot for residents and their families to enjoy.

We have two day rooms, inviting places to sit, relax or watch TV. Our large activity area is the setting for many daily events and special gatherings.

Outside the activity area are two courtyards, one that is home to our resident cat. Our chapel is available for quiet time or meditation. Outdoor terrace areas are favorite gathering places for residents, families and friends. Our vegetable garden is planted each spring and residents enjoy its bounty throughout the summer.
